Ian Wright has posted on his Instagram story to Reiss Nelson joining Dutch side Feyenoord on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old has found game time difficult at Arsenal and he is now moving to Eredivisie in order to earn that much-needed game time, as the club broke the news during the past hour.
Highbury legend Wright wrote on his Instagram: “Time to get the playing time you need.” added with hearts and praying hands emoji.
This is the right move for all parties because Nelson just wasn’t getting the minutes at the Emirates.
Some Arsenal fans will ask why he wasn’t handed those starts by Mikel Arteta because it’s not like the players ahead of him have been doing wonders.
Willian, who has just torn up his contract in North London, struggled throughout his time at the club.
Whilst Nicolas Pepe only came to the party towards the back end of the last campaign.
Nonetheless, this loan move has seemingly pleased Wright and it’s going to be interesting to see how Nelson now fares in Holland’s top-flight.
If he can take something out of Joe Willock’s book, and his loan spell at Newcastle last season, then Nelson will return to his boyhood club with his stock through the roof.
And if he does then it will be interesting to see how Arsenal use him, but it also has to be said, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Arteta is no longer in a job by the time he returns.
