Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez was sent off against Watford in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Arsenal legend suggested that Sanchez was deservedly sent off for Tottenham against Watford at Vicarage Road on Saturday afternoon.
The 21-year-old central defender was sent off for an elbow on Watford attacker Richarlison in the 52nd minute, as the match ended in a 1-1 draw.
Former Arsenal striker Wright criticised Colombia international centre-back, who joined Tottenham from Ajax in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £42 million.

Wright said about Sanchez on Match of the Day on BBC One on Saturday night (11:20pm, December 2, 2017): “I think that in the current climate, you just can’t challenge like that. Why has he put his arm up? He has got Dembele next to him.”

Sanchez has been superb for Tottenham since his summer move, and his dismissal should not take anything from the fact that he is a very good central defender.
Spurs’ overall performance against Watford was disappointing, and perhaps the home fans will feel that the team should have picked up all three points form the encounter.
The draw with Watford means that Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham are unlikely to challenge for the Premier League title this season.
