Ian Wright told the Kelly and Wrighty show that only Bukayo Saka is bringing ‘something different’ to Arsenal’s attacking line this season.

It could be argued that the rapidly rising teenage star has perhaps been Arsenal’s best player so far this season despite still being 19-years-old.

Whilst Mikel Arteta has managed to add defensive bite to Arsenal’s backline, they are now struggling to create and get the best out of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Wright feels that Arsenal don’t have a ‘plan B’ in their locker and teams are now finding out how Arteta wants them to play.

“If we are talking about creativity in Arsenal, at the moment, and the lack of movement from the front three then you are talking about Saka an 18-year-old,” said Wright.

“He is the only one who brings something different. Against Fulham, a poor team and Arsenal were able to play out and do what they wanted to do.

“But when you play against, as I saw them against Man City, then teams work that out. They want to work it so Aubameyang can come in from the left and score his goal – then there is no plan B to that.”

Arsenal have gone from a team that used to concede for fun, but on the same hand, entertain their fans with sparkling football.

There’s no doubt that they have lost some magic in the final third, but they have gained defensive solidity as a result of it.

Therefore, it just goes to show that this is a step-by-step process by Arteta, who will be hoping that once Aubameyang gets going then their attack will be elevated to another level along with that much-stronger defence.
