Ian Wright has told Wrighty’s House Podcast that he has ‘so much faith’ in Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and left-back Kieran Tierney.

Emotions in North London are a little indifferent, at the moment, and that’s not a good sign for the Arsenal fans because it normally means there is a difference of opinion.

A lot of that is behind Arsenal’s start to the campaign and how some feel Arteta needs time to re-build, whilst others don’t feel he have the basic skills to lay the bricks for the club.

Nonetheless, following Tierney’s reaction to Nicolas Pepe’s sending-off from the weekend, Wright backed the Scotsman all the way.

“Kieran Tierney, and the way he reacted at the end of that game, he is a future captain,” said Wright. “What he was saying to Alioski it hurt him so much. Yes, we know what Pepe did was silly and he very much regrets that.

“But KT could not deal with the fact that a professional has done that to another professional player. Dived! He’s not having that.

“You look at Tierney. It’s the attitude and mentality that Arsenal needs right now. They are not enough of them around maybe. In his eyes, he’s got that. That’s why he approached Alioski to say to him ‘you are out of order’.

“But Kieran Tierney is the one that I have so much faith in. So much faith in. Him and Mikel. The Arsenal fan base need to be a bit more patient and remember what he is trying to turn around.”

Tierney is one of a very few individuals within the squad that has tasted consistent trophy success and it’s something he is clearly hoping to transcend across from Celtic to Arsenal.

Even though injuries stagnated the start of his career in England last season, the £25 million defender [Goal] is slowly becoming a fan favourite amongst the Arsenal faithful.

His actions over the weekend sat well with the Arsenal supporters because they have been dying to see a player show passion and fight for the cause.
