Arsenal are currently second in the Premier League.

Speaking on BT Sport, Arsenal legend Ian Wright has claimed they cannot win the title this season.

The Gunners have been going well this season and are unbeaten in the league since the opening game of the season.

They currently find themselves second in the table, three points behind league leaders Chelsea.

There is no denying that they are firmly in the title race this season, although there are many who still doubt their credentials.

And it seems that former forward Wright is one of them, telling BT Sport he has not seen anything from his old side that suggests they will end the campaign as champions.

“No. I don’t think so especially after how Chelsea played. They seem to have the momentum at the moment,” he told BT Sport when asked if Arsenal can win the title.

“I haven’t seen anything from Arsenal’s last three or four games to make me think they’re there yet.”

It is now up to Arsene Wenger and his men to prove their doubters wrong and mount a serious title challenge this season.

Fans and pundits are wise not to get carried away just yet, especially given the fact they were top of the table at the beginning of 2016 but ended far behind eventual champions Leicester City.

That was a chastening experience, to say the least, and Gunners fans will be hoping they have learned their lessons.
