These past few weeks have been testing times for Bukayo Saka, as many started to question the Arsenal star’s form.

But the 22-year-old proved that class is permanent by scoring his second goal in three games during Arsenal’s 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest on Tuesday night.

Ian Wright was pleased by the ‘composed’ nature in which Bukayo Saka took his goal, but he wasn’t best pleased with the Nottingham Forest fans.

The former striker highlighted how, ‘for some reason’, those inside the City Ground were ‘booing’ him yesterday, as he told Premier League Productions (30/01/24).

That’s why he was ‘quite pleased’ that the Hale-End star did get on the scoresheet because that was the best way to shut up the boo boys.

In a campaign where some are suggesting that Bukayo Saka has dropped off, he still has 15 goal contributions from 21 Premier League matches.

That just proves and showcases the levels he has set in Arsenal colours because many are now demanding the absolute highest of gold standards from the player.

Nottingham Forest fans boo Bukayo Saka

“I was quite pleased with this,” said Wright about Saka’s goal. “For some reason, the Nottingham Forest fans were booing Saka, so I was quite pleased.

“In the end, Arsenal turned it over (possession). You can see, they are getting forward and Saka does well. He stays composed, hits the target and scores.”

Arsenal prepare for Liverpool clash with a win

This was a fixture Arsenal lost last season, so everyone associated with the club would have been delighted that they have managed to secure these three points.

The gap between Mikel Arteta’s side and leaders Liverpool is just two points now – The Reds host Chelsea in the Premier League on Wednesday night.

After that, the Gunners will welcome Liverpool to the Emirates for a mouthwatering Premier League showdown, where they will be hoping to get some revenge for their FA Cup loss, as well as remind their rivals that they aren’t going anywhere when it comes to the title race.

Regardless of what Liverpool do against Chelsea, you just feel the weekend game is a must-win for Arsenal.
