West Ham United could only manage to get a 1-1 draw against Stoke City yesterday.

Ian Wright has told Match of the Day, which was broadcast on BBC One on 5th November, that West Ham United goalkeeper Adrian had a nightmare against Stoke City yesterday.

Adrian looked shaky throughout West Ham’s match against Stoke, and his error ultimately cost Slaven Bilic’s side a victory at the London Stadium.

The Spanish stopper rushed off his line to try and collect a long-pass, but he was beaten to it by Jonathan Walters and Bojan was able to flick the ball into an empty net to rescue a point for Stoke.

Adrian’s decision to come off his line was a baffling one, as West Ham’s defence appeared to be in complete control of the situation.

And Wright said: “He’s had a bit of a nightmare. Where is he going? What’s he doing, Adrian? The manager is saying that Stoke have got a point, and they don’t deserve it, but the goalkeeper has cost them that game!”

West Ham had taken the lead against Stoke, when Michail Antonio’s header was diverted into his own net by Glenn Whelan.

However, Stoke’s equaliser stopped the London side claiming what would have been an important victory.

West Ham are now in 16th place in the Premier League, as they continue to struggle to move away from the drop zone.
