The midfielder has been in inspired form for Everton this season.

Speaking on BT Sport, Ian Wright has suggested that big teams could target Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye in the future.

Gueye arrived at Goodison Park in the summer transfer window in a low-key move from relegated Aston Villa.

At the time there were some who questioned the move after the midfielder had failed to show his best form for the Villans last season.

He has since proved that any doubts were wrong, though, with a series of impressive performances in the heart of the Blues’ midfield.

So far this season he betters N’Golo Kante for tackles and interceptions and Wright believes big teams could look to swoop.

“His form up to now from the start of the season, he has been one of the shining lights,” he told BT Sport.

“They’re going to have to watch themselves because if he carries on doing what he’s doing he’s somebody that they [they big teams] will come in for.”

There is certainly no denying that Gueye has proved to be a superb signing for Everton this season.

Even with the Blues struggling for their best form in the past couple of months the midfielder has continued to impress.

His performances have not gone unnoticed and just like Kante in the summer, it would not be surprising to see a Champions League side chase his signature should he continue to play as he has.
