Ian Wright and Paul Scholes have given their verdict on Premier League Productions on the defeat for Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Thursday evening.

Arsenal have suffered a 3-2 defeat to Manchester United away from home at Old Trafford in the Premier League tonight.

Emile Smith Rowe opened the scoring for the Gunners in the 13th minute.

Martin Odegaard also found the back for Arsenal in the second half.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice and Bruno Fernandes added one, as United won 3-2.

Manchester United v Arsenal verdict

Arsenal legend Wright said on Premier League Productions: “If you make mistakes with Ronaldo around, you’re going to get punished. Arsenal started very well but they didn’t continue to do what they had been doing for the first 30 minutes.

“That invites Man Utd on – Arsenal gave them the impetus to attack, they didn’t keep the ball well enough or pass it enough. In the end, that’s what will happen; as well as Arsenal played in some of the game, it’s not good enough.”

United legend Scholes said on Premier League Productions: “It’s a really good win for Man Utd – I don’t think we saw anything different from them but a win’s a win. Now you see why Cristiano has to play – if he gets chances, he’ll score goals. He looked like he was on a mission to score.”

Manchester United were better than Arsenal

United were the better team than Arsenal tonight.

In our view, the Red Devils deserved to win the Premier League game at Old Trafford.

It was a big match in the race for the Premier League top four.

And Ronaldo turned up.

The Real Madrid legend is going strong as ever.

And against a strong Arsenal defence, the Portugal international forward scored twice.

The result means that United are now seventh in the Premier League table with 21 points from 14 matches.

As for Arsenal, the Gunners are fifth with 23 points from 14 games.
