Ian Wright has told the Wrighty’s House podcast that Aston Villa defender Matty Cash has impressed him so much.
Cash was signed by Villa in the summer and he has quickly become their first choice at right-back.
The 23-year-old has shown a great intensity to his play, with very few wingers getting the better of him.
And Wright had nothing put positive things to say about Cash, after watching him play against Arsenal recently.
“Matty Cash man, Jesus Christ,” he said. “Matty Cash looks like someone who is literally playing in a game where ‘yes you lot are all here, but I’m so intense man, nobody is passing me’.
“He just looks like this is it. He just looks like I’m ready.”
The brilliance of the signing of Cash may have actually gone unnoticed at Villa.

The likes of Ross Barkley and Emi Martinez have taken much of the headlines since they arrived at Villa, but Cash has proven to be every bit as important.
The claret and blues showed great faith in paying a big fee for him and putting him in their starting line-up straight away, and he has quickly repaid Dean Smith.
Villa have now made an excellent start to the season, and currently sit in sixth place in the Premier League table.
