And Taylor has urged Grealish to stay strong during his time on the sidelines.
Grealish was anticipated to have a big role at Villa over the new season, with the youngster under pressure to start fulfilling his obvious potential.
However, this set-back means that Grealish is unlikely to feature for Villa until the back end of the campaign.
The 21-year-old’s absence will come as a frustration to Steve Bruce, as it reduces the amount of creativity available to him.
Villa are still among the favourites for promotion this term – with optimism high at Villa Park.
