John McGinn has signed a new contract with Aston Villa despite reported interest from Manchester United.

Ian Taylor has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Aston Villa handing John McGinn a new contract.
As announced on Villa’s official website, McGinn has put pen to paper on a new five-year contract.
The Scotland international midfielder joined Villa from Hibernian in the summer of 2018 for a transfer fee reported by The Times to be worth £2.75 million plus add-on and when Steve Bruce was in charge of the Villans.
The Scotland international was superb for Villa last season and played a key role in the Villans’ clinching promotion to the Premier League via the Championship playoffs.
According to WhoScored, McGinn made 42 starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for Villa last season, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists in the process.

According to The Sun, Premier League giants Manchester United are interested signing McGinn from Villa this summer.
The midfielder, though, is now set to stay at Villa Park, and Villa legend Tayloris pleased with the club’s announcement today on transfer deadline day.
