Aston Villa hero Ian Taylor has taken to Twitter over the weekend to give his verdict on their 0-0 draw away at Derby County.
Villa travelled to the iPro Stadium in search of three points having let a late 1-0 lead over Huddersfield Town slip away just days earlier – and whilst goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini came in for huge criticism for his part in the Terriers’ equaliser, Villa’s defence was in top form against Derby.

Marshalled by James Chester and Tommy Elphick, Villa were defensively solid and kept a clean sheet as they played out a 0-0 draw with Derby, whilst they may coun themselves unlucky not to have nicked all three points.
Ross McCormack and Gary Gardner both hit the woodwork with superb long-range strikes in the first half, whilst Elphick had a second half shot cleared off the goal-line as the match ended in stalemate.

The result means Villa are now unbeaten in their last three Championship games, with new manager Roberto Di Matteo stringing some solid results together, even if that draw against Huddersfield was a blow.
After the game, Villa hero Ian Taylor took to Twitter to give his verdict on the game, having gone up against another of his former clubs in Derby.

Taylor suggested that the 0-0 draw was a fair result, as whilst Villa had the better of the first half, Derby came on strong in the second period.
Taylor added that he felt Villa were unlucky having hit the woodwork and had a shot cleared off the line, but it was a decent result and a positive evening for Villa.
