Aston Villa could only draw 2-2 with Nottingham Forest.

Aston Villa's Mark Bunn looks dejected after the game

Ian Taylor has claimed that Aston Villa goalkeeper Mark Bunn will be disappointed with his display against Nottingham Forest, during Sky Sports’ coverage of the match.

Bunn replaced the injured Pierluigi Gollini at half-time, and he was beaten twice during the contest.

While Bunn could do little with the second Forest strike, Taylor feels that the former Norwich City stopper could have done better to stop Apostolos Vellios’ vicious effort.

“I know Mark pretty well and he’ll be disappointed with that, and he’ll think he could have saved it,” Taylor said to Sky Sports, during their live coverage of the match. “They’ll be disappointed with that.”

Vellios’ effort was powerful, but it was from a long way out and did not find the corner of the net.

Villa’s performance, otherwise, was fairly encouraging and they will feel rather aggrieved not have to claimed the three points.

The Claret and Blues looked dangerous going forward throughout the match, and Taylor singled out Jordan Ayew for praise.

“Jordan Ayew was our shining light,” Taylor said. “He caused problems coming inside.”

Villa’s draw with Forest leaves them in 17th place in the Championship table, meaning they are under pressure to improve.

Roberto Di Matteo’s side’s next fixture comes against Brentford on Wednesday evening.
