Aston Villa have signed Sam Johnstone on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season.
Ian Taylor has praised Sam Johnstone, Andre Green and Keinan Davis for their performances for Aston Villa against Tottenham Hotspur in the FA Cup.
Johnstone, who is Villa’s first signing of the January transfer window, started in goal at White Hart Lane, while Green and Davis were brought on as late substitutes.
And even though Villa were beaten 2-0 by Spurs, Taylor still found positives in the claret and blues’ performance.
Davis’ display was his senior debut for the club, and the youngster posted a message on social media after the match.
Villa were outclassed by Spurs in the end, with Ben Davies and Heung-Min Son scoring for the Premier League side.
Tottenham dominated possession in the match, and although they weren’t at their best, they still managed to get past Villa’s challenge.
Spurs will find out who they draw in the fourth round of the FA Cup later this evening.
Villa, meanwhile, will now be able to concentrate on their league campaign as they aim to claim a play off spot in the Championship.
