Aston Villa lost against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Championship on Saturday.

Aston Villa slumped to a 2-0 defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers away from home at the Molineux Stadium in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.

The Villans headed into the match against Wolves on the back of a 1-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers at Villa Park in the league.

Many will have expected Steve Bruce’s side to at least pick up a point from the encounter, but they went down 2-0 to the Wanderers.

After a goalless first half, Diogo Jota put the home team in the lead, and Leo Bonatini doubled the advantage on 71 minutes.

Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Molineux Stadium in the Championship on Saturday afternoon, hosts Wolves had 55% of the possession, took 20 shots of which six were on target, and earned six corners, according to BBC Sport.

Visitors Villa had 45% of the possession, took seven shots of which one was on target, and earned two corners, according to BBC Sport.
