Speaking to 888Sport, Liverpool legend Ian Rush has claimed that he thinks Philippe Coutinho is the best player in the league.
The Brazilian has been in fine form this season, currently sitting on five goals and five assists in his first 12 league games.
His performances have earned rave reviews from fans and pundits alike and played a key role in the Reds strong start to the campaign, with Jurgen Klopp’s team just a point behind leaders Chelsea.
Indeed, there has already been talk that La Liga giants Barcelona are determined to take the midfielder to the Nou Camp.
Rush is one who has been impressed and says he thinks the Liverpool star is the best in the league, even better than Eden Hazard.
“I’m biased because I watch him play a lot but I think he is the best in the Premier League,” he told 888Sport.
“Hazard is doing well at Chelsea but Coutinho is doing better than Hazard this season. He is scoring more goals with more assists and he has been fantastic. He was good last year but now he is a much better player.”

Liverpool will now be hoping that Coutinho can continue his fine form and help them to maintain their title push this season.
He has been key to their performances so far, forming a deadly forward trio with Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.
Those three have helped the Reds to be the league’s highest goalscorers so far and they will need to keep up that record if they are to win their first Premier League crown this season.
