Speaking on The Robbie Fowler Podcast, Ian Rush has given his view on where Liverpool will finish this season.
The Reds’ legendary striker is still optimistic that the Merseyside club will finish in the top four this season, claiming that despite the fact they’ve struggled lately, Liverpool have actually been playing well.
“I still think they will make the top four, and let’s regroup then at the end of the season, if we can do that, let’s regroup and get everyone fit and I’m sure they will be right up there again,” Rush said.
“Yeah, I’m confident, even when they’re losing games they’re not playing bad you know. There’s only one game where I though they didn’t deserve it. Liverpool have played pretty well, so if they keep doing what they’re doing I’m confident that they’ll get into the top four.”

Whether or not Rush’s prediction comes true remains to be seen, but it is interesting to hear how the Liverpool legend views the current situation.
He’s confident that they’ll finish in the top four, but with so many teams in contention right now, it has to be said that it’s a tough task.
Of course, Liverpool are good enough to claw their way back into the Champions League spots. After all, they’re the reigning Premier League champions, but it is looking like an uphill task at the moment.
Fingers crossed Rush is right about the Reds.
