Danny Ings joined Southampton on loan from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

Ings joined Southampton on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
According to Sky Sports, the move will be made permanent in the summer of 2019 for a guaranteed transfer fee of £18 million.
The 26-year-old forward joined Liverpool in the summer of 2015 after leaving Burnley at the end of the 2014-15 campaign.
The England international struggled with injury problems during his time at Anfield and failed to break into Jurgen Klopp’s starting lineup when he did regain his fitness.
Liverpool legend Ian Rush has suggested that Ings is better off at Southampton.

Rush told beIN SPORTS about Ings: “Danny Ings, when he was at Liverpool, he was absolutely fantastic. He is most probably one of the best at playing off the shoulder of the defender.
“If you get the players in midfield to play around him, I will guarantee you that he will get in every position. He plays off the shoulder of the defender and he is absolutely excellent in those positions.”
Rush added: “I think Liverpool have gone on to a different level to tell you the truth. I think the way they play doesn’t suit Danny Ings. The way Southampton play suits Danny Ings.”

Ings would have struggled to even get on the substitutes’ bench at Liverpool had he stayed at Anfield.
The former Bournemouth and Burnley forward has made 13 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for Southampton so far this season, scoring seven goals and providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.
