Leeds United have enjoyed a rather successful first season back in the Premier League, and after surpassing the 50-point mark, it will soon be time to look towards the summer transfer window.
We already know some of the things Leeds are planning this summer, we’ve heard repeatedly that they want a left-back and that they wouldn’t mind some defensive midfield cover for Kalvin Phillips.
However, if recent reports are to be believed, they also want a new winger.
Indeed, last week, Leeds were linked to both Noa Lang and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and while both of those players are exciting, one United player has to be asking questions about his place at the club.
Ian Poveda has acted as Leeds’ third-choice right winger this season, leading to limited opportunities and a season without a single league start so far.

Poveda is only young, so it is thought that his time will come, but with Crysencio Summerville already breathing down his neck, his position is in danger.
If either Lang or Kvaratskhelia come in, Poveda will slip even further down the Leeds pecking order, and with both of those players also being youngsters, it’s hard to see where he will fit in.
Poveda would have every right to be fuming, he’s barely put a foot wrong when he’s been on the pitch, earning all sorts of plaudits from fans, but it seems as though Leeds are planning on bringing in another player in his position.
Poveda left Manchester City last January because he was frustrated with a lack of first-team opportunities, and while he’s gotten more of a chance at Leeds, he’s still not starting games, and he has every right to be frustrated by that.
Let’s hope that Bielsa has given him assurances about his future before making any signings that could unsettle him, as he’s a very talented player who Leeds may regret mishandling.
