Ian Poveda has expressed his delight at making his debut for Leeds United on Twitter, with Rangers coach Michael Beale responding to it.
Poveda made his debut for Leeds in their Championship game against Cardiff City away from home at the Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Poveda came on as a substitute in the 77th minute, as Marcelo Bielsa’s side lost 2-0.
The 20-year-old, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, did not have a great time after coming on, as he struggled against Cardiff’s physicality and looked rusty.
According to WhoScored, the England Under-20 international had a pass accuracy of 72.7%, took 16 touches, made one tackle, and put in one cross.
It was Poveda’s first competitive game for Leeds following his move to the Championship club from Premier League giants Manchester City in the January transfer window.
The youngster has given his take on his debut for the Whites, and Rangers coach Beale has responded to it, with the latter having worked with him in the Chelsea youth set-up.
