Anthony Joshua fought Jake Paul on Friday night and it was no surprise when the English heavyweight won by knockout in the sixth round in Miami.

Famous YouTube star Jake Paul may be criticized for his boxing skills, or lack thereof, but he deserves huge credit for having the courage to fight Anthony Joshua to begin with.

The fight itself was a bit of a washout in all honesty, but Joshua looked in truly fantastic shape and it’s fair to say that the American had no chance of beating him in Miami.

Jake Paul is not a professional boxer like Anthony Joshua, so fair play to him for putting up a fight.

That said, Paul is believed to have been paid around $90 million for his efforts, according to conservative estimates from the Daily Mail.

But how much would it take for Ian Poulter to get inside the ring with Joshua?

LIV Golf star Poulter was in the crowd to watch the big fight in Miami on Friday night.

The Englishman isn’t short of money himself, with a reported net worth of around $60 million (Celebrity Net Worth).

So could he be tempted to add to his wealth by fighting one of the best heavyweights in recent history?

When speaking to BBC Sport, Poulter responded when asked how much money he’d need to be paid to get inside the ring with Joshua.

He said: Um, I wouldn’t get in the ring with Anthony Joshua for any amount of money.

A wise answer indeed from Poulter.

It’s worth remembering that no amount of money can buy good health and our personal wellbeing is always the most important thing!

Whether Anthony Joshua could fight Tyson Fury in 2026

It’s the heavyweight fight that all boxing fans want to see: Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury.

And boxing promoter Eddie Hearn opened up on whether it could actually happen in 2026, when speaking to talkSPORT in November.

He said: “Next year, we will fight in February, and then we will fight Tyson Fury if Turki Al-Sheikh [the chairman of Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority] delivers on his plans and strategies.

“We spoke with him in London this week. Everything that we do with Anthony Joshua will be in accordance with and under the guidance of Turki Al-Sheikh. He has given us amazing opportunities. And the game plan will be put together with him.

“It’s Turki Al-Sheikh’s responsibility to talk to Tyson Fury and try and make the deal. I can’t tell you we’re fighting Tyson Fury. What I can tell you is Turki Al-Sheikh has told us, ‘I am going to make AJ V Tyson Fury. This is your deal. Do you accept?’

“We have accepted. Is the fight made? No, because I don’t know where he’s at with Tyson Fury. All I know is he’s yet to fail in delivering a fight.”

That sounds very positive indeed but as Eddie Hearn said, we will have to wait and see whether Turki Al-Sheikh manages to make the Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury fight happen.
