Everton will host Arsenal in the Premier League in December.

Fabian Delph of Everton looks on during the Premier League match between Everton FC and Wolverhampton Wanderers at Goodison Park on September 01, 2019 in Liverpool, United Kingdom.

Ian Holloway has suggested that Arsenal need a player like Fabian Delph as he claimed that the Everton man can do things that Granit Xhaka can’t do.

Over the weekend, Everton recorded a 3-2 win over Wolves, with Delph impressing in the middle of the park and picking up the Man of the Match of the award.

Meanwhile, in North London, Xhaka gave away a costly penalty against Tottenham, as Arsenal recorded a 2-2 draw against their neighbours.

Speaking to The Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show on TalkSport (02/09/2019 at 6:45 am), Holloway praised Delph for his ability to sense danger, something he thinks Xhaka doesn’t have.

“For me, what I’m looking at somebody who is probably the signing of the season for Everton is Fabian Delph,” Holloway told TalkSport.

“If Arsenal had Delph playing they he did for Everton [against Wolves] because he reads so many things. And I don’t see Xhaka doing that.”

For a number of seasons now, Xhaka has displayed an inability to show calmness when defending as he has constantly given away silly fouls.

Delph joined Everton in the summer when he left Manchester City, as the early signs suggest that he is a very valuable capture by Marco Silva’s side this season.

The Toffees will be aiming to finish in the top-six this season and one of the teams they will be hoping to dispossess is Arsenal, but they will have to produce some seriously good consistent performances if they are to do that.
