Queens Park Rangers manager Ian Holloway has told Get West London that his side cannot rely on Matt Smith too much against Leeds United.

Smith has played quite well for QPR since his move from Championship rivals Fulham in the January transfer window.

The 27-year-old striker has scored two goals in six games for Rangers since his switch from the Cottagers.

The Englishman will be a key figure for QPR during the Champions League game against Leeds United on Saturday afternoon.

Smith will be looking to make an impact against his former club Leeds at Elland Road.

QPR manager Holloway has warned his players against relying too much on the 27-year-old.

“Matt’s been a great signing, but we’ve got to make sure we don’t think he’s our only player – he’s too easy an option sometimes,” Holloway told Get West London.

“Because he’s that obviously tall, some of our passes have been aimed at him when I feel we should have been passing it, moving it, rolling it to other people and then finding him.”

QPR are 14th in the Championship table at the moment with 46 points from 36 matches.

The London club will head into the match against Leeds on the back of a 2-1 victory over Barnsley at Loftus Road in the league.

Leeds will be favourites to win this afternoon’s encounter, but one should not be surprised if Rangers pick up a point.
