Ian Holloway has made his return to QPR as their new manager.

Queens Park Rangers’ new manager Ian Holloway has revealed to The Mirror that he has told his players that he wants images of them to be all over the walls at Loftus Road.

The R’s chose to sack former boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink earlier this month following a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest, and chairman Tony Fernandes chose to turn back the clock by bringing in Holloway.

Holloway, 53, racked up more than 150 appearances for QPR as a player during the 1990’s, and then returned to the club as their manager between 2001 and 2006, taking charge of more than 250 games.

Now, Holloway is back at Loftus Road, and takes charge of his first game since returning this afternoon, as his side host Norwich City in the Championship today.

Holloway will be looking to kick off his second reign at the club with a win, which would haul the R’s away from the relegation zone and towards the play-offs.

The returning manager has spoken to The Mirror ahead of the game, and laid out plans to steady the ship, as QPR ‘are not a race horse’, and wants everybody to be on board moving forward, claiming there has been a lot of distrust at the club in recent times.

Holloway added that he wants to find some ‘new superstars’, much like former R’s heroes Stanley Bowles, Gerry Francis and Rodney Marsh, even revealing that he has told his players that he wants the players to succeed so much that they are remembered with images of themselves all around Loftus Road.

“The club has galloped forward but I want to try and bring it back a little bit,” said Holloway. “If we are a horse, we are not a race horse, we are a horse that is going to try and pull a cart and make sure everybody is on it. They’ve had a lot of distrust around the place about where it’s going, so I’m going to try and find them some new superstars.”

“They made Stanley Bowles a superstar, they made Gerry Francis a superstar…Rodney Marsh. I said to the players, ‘I want you lot to be over those walls, I want you lot to be remembered for what you’ve done for this club’. And we will be, they will be,” he added.
