Ian Holloway says that he wanted to sign Aston Villa star John McGinn for Queens Park Rangers.

Holloway was in charge of QPR from 2001 until 2006 and then again from November 2016 until the summer of 2018.
McGinn started his professional club football career at St. Mirren and moved to Hibernian in 2015 before joining Villa in England in the summer of 2018.
Holloway told The Scottish Sun: “Just look at John McGinn. He has been fantastic for Aston Villa and was a player I was keen to take to QPR if I had stayed there.”
Quality footballer
McGinn joined Villa from Hibernian in the summer of 2018 for a transfer fee reported by The Times to be worth £2.75 million plus add-ons.

The Scotland international midfielder has been superb for the Villans and played a key role in Dean Smiths’s side clinching promotion to the Premier League via the Championship playoffs.
According to WhoScored, the 24-year-old made 42 starts and one substitute appearance in the Championship for Villa this season, scoring seven goals and providing nine assists in the process.
It will be interesting to see how McGinn fares in the Premier League next season.
