Queens Park Rangers are due to take on Derby County on Friday evening.

Ian Holloway has told Get West London that it would be ridiculous if he started Massimo Luongo for Queens Park Rangers on Friday.

QPR are set to take on Derby County tomorrow, just hours after Luongo arrives back in England following the international break.

Luongo has been representing Australia in the last fortnight, and only returns early on Friday morning.

And Holloway admits that he will leave the 24-year-old out of Rangers’ line-up for the contest against Derby.

“Massimo has a monumental amount of travelling,” Holloway admitted.

“He’s proud to do it but he only gets back in the early hours of Friday morning.

“I will use him on Tuesday but I think it’d be ridiculous to play him Friday. I think he’ll be half asleep so I’ll leave him out and add him to the squad for Tuesday.”

Luongo has been in good form for QPR recently, so his absence will be a blow for the London side.

Luongo’s return could come against Aston Villa next week.

Rangers will be hoping that the international break has not affected their momentum too much, as they are in excellent form.

QPR have won five of their last seven matches to start climbing up the Championship table.
