Goss has impressed since signing for Murty’s Rangers in January, and scored the second goal of his Ibrox spell on Tuesday.

Ian Holloway has stressed that he will not sell Rangers loan star Sean Goss, who has impressed since linking up with Graeme Murty’s Ibrox outfit.

Goss failed to make a single appearance for parent club Queens Park Rangers this season, but has made an immediate impression since his January move to Rangers.

The midfielder has started all seven of Rangers’ Scottish Premiership fixtures in that time, and scored his second goal for the club during Wednesday’s 4-1 win at St Johnstone.

Rangers manager Graeme Murty is seen during the Ladbrokes Scottish Premiership match between Rangers and Aberdeen at Ibrox Stadium on January 24, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

That prompted Murty to confirm his interest in signing Goss on a permanent basis, but the Rangers manager’s comments have not gone down well with QPR counterpart Holloway.

“I’d rather talk to Graeme about that myself because he is out of order talking about my player,” the 54-year-old said, as quoted by the Daily Record. “He’s my player, nobody else’s. It’s not right he’s talking about trying to buy one of my players when that player is not for sale.”

He added: “I’m glad the boy is doing well. We bought him to be a good player – he is a good player – and I’m glad he’s getting the experience but he’s likely to come back and play for us. It’s as simple as that.

“His future is at QPR. I bought him to be a QPR player. I’ve loaned him out when he’s never been loaned out before and I’m delighted he’s doing well but he won’t be getting sold.

“If Graeme has said he wants him permanently then that’s a bit of a silly statement because he is not for sale. You can’t buy someone who is not for sale.

“I’d imagine Graeme would speak to me about it at the right time. Graeme should do his job by speaking to me about my player.

“Graeme’s a good bloke but I’m pretty surprised he’s left himself open to this. I have no issue with him but the boy is not for sale.”

QPR paid £500,000 to sign Goss from Manchester United in January 2017, and handed the 22-year-old a contract until June 2020.

The English side have struggled financially in recent seasons, however, and could yet be tempted into selling Goss for the right transfer fee.

Could Goss return to Rangers next season?
