Kazenga LuaLua has been unavailable for Queens Park Rangers’ last three matches, but could come back into contention soon.

Ian Holloway has told Queens Park Rangers’ official website that it is ‘really good news’ that Kazenga LuaLua has made swift progress in his recovery from injury.

LuaLua has been out with injury since the start of the month, and there were fears that he could be kept out for a considerable amount of time.

However, Holloway is optimistic that the Brighton & Hove Albion loanee will be back sooner rather than later.

“Kazenga (LuaLua) is also making progress,” Holloway said.

“This weekend will come just too soon for him, but he’s made a much speedier recovery that we expected, which is really good news.”

LuaLua has been used sparingly since he arrived at QPR on loan in the January transfer window, but he has already shown flashes of class.

The 26-year-old has only made three starts for Rangers, but he has still scored one goal and claimed two assists.

Even without LuaLua available for selection, QPR have performed well in recent weeks – and have gone unbeaten in their last three matches.

QPR are next in action against struggling Rotherham United at Loftus Road this weekend.

If Holloway’s men can pick up the three points they could move up to 12th place in the Championship table.
