Sky Sports pundit Ian Holloway is tipping Brighton & Hove Albion to exact their revenge on Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough on Saturday.

Brighton have bounced back from last season’s play-off semi-final defeat to Wednesday and sit fourth in the Championship – though they are only a point better off than their eighth-placed hosts.

And despite an almost flawless home record for the Owls under Carlos Carvalhal – three defeats from 32 – Holloway expects them to come off worst this time around, singling out two particular danger men.

“Brighton will get their own back for last season,” wrote the former Leicester City and Crystal Palace boss in his weekly predictions column for Sky Sports.

“Sheffield Wednesday are a really good side, but I think Chris Hughton and his players will have the play-off defeat on their minds.

“That will smart with them, and I think Glenn Murray and Tomer Hemed will cause problems for Wednesday.

If Holloway’s prediction is to come true, Brighton will have to break the Hillsborough hoodoo which has seen them fail to win in any of their 17 visits and fail to score in their last four.

Both sides go into the game in fine form, having won four of their last five league fixtures apiece. Brighton though, have failed to concede a single goal in that time, with Wednesday keeping just one clean sheet.
