Ian Holloway believes Leeds United will earn a point in South Wales.

Ian Holloway has told Sky Sports that he expects Leeds United to earn a 1-1 draw in Saturday’s visit to Cardiff City.

Leeds make the trip to South Wales on something of a high after beating Blackburn Rovers 2-1 at Elland Road on Tuesday for their first home win of the season, with Kyle Bartley netting an 86th-minute winner for the hosts.

But the Whites – who beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 last month, their only other Championship win – have experienced false dawns before this season so the players will know that their win in midweek has no real bearing on how they fare at City.

Cardiff are not exactly tearing up England’s second tier either so far, with Paul Trollope’s side winning one of their seven league outings, and they welcome Leeds on the back of a 3-0 defeat at Preston North End.

Holloway previously claimed that United would finish in the playoff spots this season, but the former Crystal Palace and Blackpool boss does not believe that they will take a step toward the top six with a win this weekend.

“Leeds have picked up of late, while Cardiff are struggling. This is a hard one to predict as Cardiff obviously need to get going and things have not been falling their way of late, but they are pretty good at home,” he wrote in Sky Sports.

“However, I see Leeds getting a draw and I did predict they would finish the season in the top six remember, although we will have to see how that works out.

“This one is just too close to call, though, so I will go for a score draw.”
