Aston Villa are looking to make it five games unbeaten under Steve Bruce.

Sky Sports pundit Ian Holloway can see only one winner when Aston Villa host Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

Villa remain unbeaten under new boss Steve Bruce, with Sunday’s derby draw at St. Andrew’s taking their points tally to eight from a possible 12 under the 56-year-old.

Holloway believes the former Hull City chief has restored confidence at Villa Park, after the Villans’ disastrous start to the Championship season which culminated in Roberto Di Matteo’s sacking.

One player who appears to be benefitting from Bruce’s appointment is summer signing Jonathan Kodjia, having scored in all but one of the Geordie gaffer’s fixtures after a four-game drought.

And Villa’s other expensive closed-season recruit could also be back among the goals against Blackburn, with Holloway backing Ross McCormack to score first in a 2-0 win.

“I can only see Villa winning this,” the former Leicester City and Crystal Palace boss wrote in his weekly predictions column. “I just think they have turned the corner and will be confident now after that draw away at Birmingham. And with the way their season has gone so far, that is another feather in Steve Bruce’s cap.”

A Villa win will move them into the top half for the first time since August providing other results go in their favour.

The Villa Park outfit are only six points off a play-off place as things stand.
