Sandro made his first Championship appearance of the season for Queens Park Rangers against Norwich City yesterday.
New Queens Park Rangers manager Ian Holloway has told West London Sport that Sandro has not put a foot wrong in training during his first week in charge at Loftus Road.
Sandro made his first Championship appearance of the season for QPR yesterday, as he came off the substitutes’ bench at half-time to replace Jack Robinson.
And the Brazilian midfielder played his part as QPR picked up a 2-1 win over Norwich City.
“He hasn’t put a foot wrong all week. I’m not going to ignore that,” Holloway said, after the match.
Sandro had been almost totally ignored by previous QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who appeared to have deemed the former Tottenham Hotspur man to have no future at Loftus Road.
Sandro was sent out on loan to West Bromwich Albion last term, and Rangers actively looked to offload the 27-year-old last summer.
However, QPR were unable to find a buyer for Sandro and it now seems that could benefit Holloway.
Holloway’s desire to give Sandro another chance increases competition for places in Rangers’ midfield, as they aim to start climbing the Championship table.
QPR’s win over Norwich has lifted them up into 13th place in the second tier standings, and Holloway’s side are now only four points away from the play off spots.
