Ian Holloway has spoken highly of Nottingham Forest striker Lewis Grabban on the EFL show on Quest TV.

The former Queens Park Rangers manager was impressed with the performance of Grabban for Forest against Ipswich Town at the weekend.

The 30-year-old, who can also operate as a winger, scored both goals in the Reds’ 2-0 win against Ipswich at the City Ground in the Championship this past Saturday afternoon.

The former Bournemouth striker – who had loan spells at Sunderland and Aston Villa last season from the Cherries – scored two goals for Forest in their 5-5 draw with the Villans away from home at Villa Park in the Championship last.

Holloway said about Grabban on the EFL show on Quest TV: “I have always liked him, and I have got to say, watching him live last Wednesday, that’s the best that I have ever seen him play, and he has done it again today.

“He is in a rich vein of form goalscoring-wise but his overall play, he is reading things. He is so intelligent.”

Pushing for promotion

Forest are doing well in the Championship at the moment and are very much in the race for automatic promotion to the Premier League.

Aitor Karanka’s side are fifth in the Championship table at the moment with 34 points from 20 matches, just six points behind leaders Norwich City.

The Reds will take on Preston North End at the City Ground in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
