Brighton and Hove Albion loanee Ben White is thriving in his season-long loan spell at Championship side Leeds United.

Ian Holloway has claimed that ‘stubborn’ Marcelo Bielsa will ‘never change’ as he stated that he is glad that he is that type of character.
The former QPR boss also controversially claimed that Leeds were seemingly right to let sell Pontus Jansson in the summer because he always had a mistake in him despite the Swede being a top-performer during his time at Elland Road.
With Jansson’s surprise departure to Championship rivals Brentford in the summer, it meant that there was a lot of pressure on the shoulders of his replacement, and Brighton loanee, Ben White.
Speaking to EFL on Quest (09/11/19 at 9:40 pm), Holloway lauded White as ‘outstanding’ as he thinks he has improved Leeds from a defensive standpoint.
“He’s [Bielsa] a mule [stubborn], he can never change,” Holloway told EFL on Quest. “I don’t want him to change. He is who he is and he’s a maverick.
“Attacking wise they haven’t [matched last season], but defensively I think they’re better. I think White has come in and he’s been outstanding. They got rid of Jansson, who was a fan favourite, but I think he had a rick in him.”

Jansson was a key figure at the heart of Leeds United’s defence for a number of seasons as it was a shame that he left in the manner in which he did.
He was arguably Leeds United’s best defensive player as during his best years, he built a strong bond with the Elland Road faithful, and those who played next to him, from Kyle Bartley to Liam Cooper.
But now he is plying his trade with Brentford, who are competing for promotion alongside Leeds, however, they will be touted more for a play-off spot rather than the top two.
