Ravel Morrison has made just four substitute appearances for Queens Park Rangers to date.
Queens Park Rangers boss Ian Holloway has told London Football News that Ravel Morrison isn’t at the level required to play yet.
Morrison was brought to QPR during the January transfer window, on loan from Lazio.
Rangers have an option to make Morrison’s transfer permanent at the end of the season, but at the moment it seems unlikely that Holloway will take up that clause.
Morrison has barely featured for QPR since moving to Loftus Road in January, with all four of his appearances to date coming as a substitute.
And when asked why Morrison wasn’t playing, Holloway claimed that it was because the attacking midfielder simply isn’t up to standard yet.
“He’d only played five games in two years when he arrived, so it’s down to him really – getting in the team and earning it,” Holloway said.
“That’s what he’s trying to do at the moment, but my team has been doing quite well.
“He was far enough away to still be trying to earn it, but hopefully he will, and hopefully our fans will see him play.
“But really, deep down, that’s down to him. I brought him in to play, so he’s got to get to the level of where I want him to be.”
Whether Morrison will start for QPR after the international break remains to be seen.
Rangers have been in excellent form of late – winning five of their last seven matches – so breaking into their side will be difficult.
QPR return to action with a match against Derby County in a week’s time.
