Patrick Bamford did not play well for Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United against Birmingham City on Saturday.

Leeds United’s quest to win automatic promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season suffered a blow on Saturday afternoon, as they went down 1-0 to Birmingham City away from home at St. Andrew’s in the Championship.
Che Adams scored the only goal of the match in the 29th minute, as Marcelo Bielsa’s side slipped down to third in the Championship table.
The performance of the West Yorkshire outfit against Birmingham left much to be desired, and one player in particular did not have a good time.
Patrick Bamford, signed from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2018, could have scored a hat-trick, as he missed some very good chances and was unlucky to hit the frame of the home team’s goal.

Birmingham goalkeeper Lee Camp denied Bamford as well, but the former Nottingham Forest striker should have really done better during the 70 minutes he was on the match.
Former Millwall and Crystal Palace manager Ian Holloway has given his take on the missed chances from Bamford, suggesting that he was surprised and also praised Camp for his effort.
Holloway said on the EFL show on Quest TV on Saturday evening (9:13pm, April 6, 2019) while analysing Bamford’s performance: “He has been a serial sub in his career so far, and for Leeds to get him in with these chances today and for him to not take one of them, I was surprised. The reason being, Campy (Lee Camp) has been excellent, absolutely fantastic.”
