Queens Park Rangers are currently in 13th place in the Championship table.
Ian Holloway has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on the 26th October, that Queens Park Rangers supporters need to realise that they are no longer the big spenders of the Championship.
QPR have been typically associated as one of the Championship’s big hitters, but with so much wealth in the second tier, they no longer have the spending power of some of their rivals.
And Holloway feels that QPR will have had a good season if they can compete for a play off spot.
“I think so [Hasselbaink should be aiming to make the play offs],” Holloway said. “I think the supporters need to realise they are not a big money club any more. I hope Jimmy does really, really well.”
QPR have made a rather indifferent start to the new campaign, and currently sit in 13th place in the Championship table.
The R’s have been inconsistent with their results, but they are still within touching distance of the top six.
As things stand, QPR are only four points away from the play off spots, despite only winning five of their first 14 matches.
Hasselbaink’s men lost 1-0 to Sheffield Wednesday in their last outing, increasing the pressure on the Dutch manager to start putting together a winning run.
QPR are next in action against Brentford on Friday evening, in what looks set to be a fierce derby contest.
