Simon Mignolet appears to have been replaced by Loris Karius as Liverpool’s number one goalkeeper.

Ian Holloway has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 13th October, that Liverpool fans were unfair on Simon Mignolet.
Sections of Liverpool’s fan base heavily criticised Mignolet last season, after the goalkeeper put in some shaky performances.
However, Holloway feels that the pressure the the Belgian international was put under from the fans was unfair.

“Some Liverpool fans were a bit unfair to Mignolet, I didn’t feel that was fair,” he said. “But Karius has a chance of being really good.”
Mignolet has been more secure in Liverpool’s goal this season, when offered a chance.
The former Sunderland goalkeeper has been given more competition for his place in Liverpool’s goal, after the addition of Loris Karius in the summer transfer window, and he seems to have responded well to the challenge.

However, the signs are that Karius may well have taken Mignolet’s place as Jurgen Klopp’s first choice stopper now.
Karius has started in Liverpool’s last two Premier League matches, and helped them pick up maximum points.
Karius is now expected to start in goal for Liverpool on Monday evening, when the Reds take on Manchester United.
