Charlie Taylor’s current contract at Leeds United runs out in the summer transfer window.
Ian Harte has told BBC Sport that he hopes that Leeds United keep hold of Charlie Taylor.
Taylor has been at Leeds his entire professional club career so far, but the defender’s current contract runs out at the end of the season.
The 23-year-old left-back is playing well for the Whites at the moment, and former Leeds defender Harte hopes that he extends his stay at Elland Road.
“I’d love it if Leeds could sign Charlie Taylor again,” Harte told BBC Sport.
“For me, [Taylor’s] the best left back in the league,” added Harte. “I know there will be plenty of interest, but, for me, it would be brilliant if Leeds could get promoted and keep someone like him.”
Taylor is one of the best defenders in the Championship, and he does look ready for Premier League football.
Leeds are going strong in the Championship at the moment and should end up in the playoffs.
However, if the West Yorkshire outfit are unable to get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the season, then perhaps Taylor could decide not to sign a new deal.
As Taylor would be available on a free transfer in the summer transfer window, many clubs, both in the Premier League and in the Championship, could be tempted to make a move for him and make a good offer in terms of salary.
