Sunderland took on newly promoted Middlesbrough this afternoon, and suffered their second 2-1 defeat of the Premier League campaign in as many games this season.
The Black Cats lost a tight game, despite putting in a good performance at the Stadium of Light.
There were some good performances. Adnan Januzaj impressed on the right-wing, Papy Djilobodji looks like being a good option at centre-back and Steven Pienaar put in a good cameo, even if his fitness certainly needs work.
Others were less impressive, with right-back Donald Love coming in for some criticism from Sunderland fans.

He also came in for some serious stick online from a former Sunderland full-back. Ian Harte, who spent an unsuccessful season at the club in 2007-8, was at the game today and was not impressed with the performance of the former Manchester United youngster. He sent out this tweet, although later deleted it, but it was reported by the Manchester Evening News:
“At Sunderland game, very disappointed in the right-back D Love. I have seen better in League Two., How has he ever played for Man United?”
Love’s signing was certainly a surprise one from Sunderland. Of the United youngsters Moyes could have signed the Scottish youngster is certainly not one of the most eye-catching.
But the defender is just 21-years-old and hopefully he can develop into a good talent at Sunderland.
