Tyler Denton extended his Leeds United contract on Friday.

Leeds United’s Tyler Denton put pen to paper on a new three-year contract yesterday.

The talented left-back, 21, has risen through the ranks at Thorp Arch but he is yet to make his senior debut for Leeds in the Championship.

But it would seem as if his long-term future is at Elland Road, and Whites legend Ian Harte, also his agent, has congratulated him on the move on Twitter.

Harte is one of United’s most respected former left-backs of recent decades and Denton would be doing well to enjoy the same career as his mentor and agent.

But he looks unlikely to be challenging for a first-team spot this season, amid a report from The Yorkshire Evening Post that Leeds boss Thomas Christiansen would send him out on loan in spite of his new contract.

The report adds that Denton, who made his first-team debut away to Luton Town in the League Cup under Garry Monk last term, is set to join a lower-league club, probably League One.
