Leeds United were beaten 2-0 by Newcastle United at Elland Road yesterday.

Ian Harte has insisted that Leeds United fans do not need to panic, after their defeat against Newcastle United yesterday.

Newcastle ran out 2-0 winners at Elland Road on Sunday, with Rafael Benitez’s side putting in a polished performance.

The Magpies scored twice through Dwight Gayle, and always looked comfortable as they went on to claim the three points.

However, Harte is adamant that Leeds are still in a good position to do well this season, and they only lost because they came up against a Newcastle side who are set to win the Championship.

Newcastle’s victory over Leeds has pushed them five points clear at the top of the Championship table, and they have now won their last nine matches in all competitions.

Despite the defeat, Leeds are also in good form and there is plenty of reason for optimism at Elland Road.

The Whites are currently on the outskirts of the play offs, and sit in seventh place in the Championship table.

Leeds are are next in action at the weekend, when they take on struggling Rotherham United at the New York Stadium.
