Rangers are still some weeks away from their season starting, but they have already suffered a huge blow.
The Gers confirmed earlier this week that defender Nikola Katic has suffered a major injury, which appears to be a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
That would rule Katic out for at least six months, but it’s more likely that Rangers will be looking at nine months to a year.
That’s a massive miss for Rangers, who now have to consider their defensive options with Katic likely to be absent for most of the season.
Steven Gerrard can call upon Connor Goldson, Filip Helander and George Edmundson, but Rangers may need to think about dipping into the market.
A loan deal to cover for Katic’s injury would be ideal, but Ian Durrant thinks the solution may actually already be at the club.
Ex-Rangers coach Durrant has told The Scottish Sun that he thinks Calvin Bassey could step in, but it’s teenager Leon King he’s really excited by.

Durrant claims ‘everyone’ raves about King, and whilst he’s only 16, he thinks the youngster could be involved more as a replacement for the injured Katic.
“They have Connor Goldson, Filip Helander and George Edmundson as established defenders,” said Durrant. “The new lad Calvin Bassey seems to be able to play centrally in defence as well.”
“There’s a central defender on the books called Leon King, who’s only 16, but everyone raves about him. He could be involved more,” he added.
