Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are linked to Jamie Walker.
Ian Cathro has told BBC Sport that Hearts winger and Rangers target Jamie Walker is a “big talent” who will reach the top in football.
Rangers are, according to The Scottish Sun, set to lodge a third bid for the £1 million-rated man, having previously seen an offer of £600,000 knocked back by manager Cathro.
Gers boss Pedro Caixinha watched the 24-year-old in action in a pre-season friendly against Newcastle United on Friday, in which he scored the Jambos’ only goal.
The future seems bright for Walker, who netted 15 goals for Hearts last season, the Tynecastle boss admits that his player is a serious talent, but played down speculation linking his boy with a move to Ibrox this summer.
“I talk to Jamie almost every day, even on days off, because he is a player I’m fond of,” he told BBC Sport.
“He is a big talent, he is someone who at a point will move on to a bigger league, a bigger club and have opportunities to work towards the top levels of the game. Of that there is no doubt.”
On the speculation, Cathro, 31, added: “A lot of people continue to say a lot of things, and that’s it really, there isn’t a situation.
“Jamie is happy, he is focused, he is training well, playing well. Like everyone really.”
