Charlie Adam has told BBC Sportsound that the recent team leak at Celtic and worries about a mole was a ‘huge blow’ for the club following their defeat to Rangers.

The former Rangers man also stated that he would tell his wife and family if he was playing in an Old Firm game and Celtic’s team news may have innocently been leaked out in that manner from the weekend.

Neil Lennon wasn’t best pleased when his team was leaked hours before Saturday’s showdown and it’s something that has happened on a number of occasions now.

Adam shared his thoughts on the unhealthy situation of a potential mole being in the camp.

“A bit of a leak of the team that was a huge blow for them as a football club,” Adam told Sportsound. “I said a couple of weeks ago that there are grumblings going on about Celtic players want to leave.

“This not healthy seeing the team come out the day before the game. There’s a mole in the camp and you don’t like to hear it or see it as a player or a manager.

“I would tell my wife, I probably wouldn’t tell my agent, but I would tell my family I was playing in the game if I knew. Yes, they are [sometimes these things are innocent].”

Given that Lennon has been in this situation before, he needs to track down the individual responsible before it causes more havoc.

This is a historic season in Scottish Premiership history with Celtic months away from potentially winning 10 titles in a row.

Therefore, it is understandable that there is serious heat in the Old Firm kitchen and as the season progresses it will only get hotter and hotter.
