Robbie Savage has said on BBC 606 that he does not think that Newcastle United will be able to avoid relegation from the Premier league at the end of the season.
The former Derby County midfielder, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport, does not think that Newcastle will be able to win another three games under manager Steve Bruce.
Savage made the comments following the Magpies’ 3-0 defeat to Brighton and Hove Albion away from home in the Premier League last Friday evening.
The result means that Bruce’s side are now 17th in the league table with 28 points from 29 matches, just two points above third-from-bottom Fulham, who have played 30 games.
Savage said on BBC 606: “Do I think Steve Bruce and Newcastle can win another three games to stay up? I would say I don’t think they can.”

Staying positive
Newcastle were dire against Brighton last Friday, and it is clear that the players have to step up their game now.
However, the fans should stay positive. After all, Newcastle still have their destiny in their own hands.
There are still nine more rounds of matches left in the Premier League this season, and the Magpies can get enough good results to hit the 40-point mark.
