Speaking on Rio Ferdinand’s YouTube channel, Ravel Morrison has admitted that he wishes he’d never left West Ham United.

Morrison joined West Ham as a highly-rated young player, but he didn’t manage to make much of an impact at the London club before being moved on.

Morrison says that the fact that Sam Allardyce tried to persuade him to change agent was the reason for his departure, claiming that he would have stayed at West Ham for the entirety of his career if he’d had the chance.

“Yeah, if I had the opportunity I would have stayed at West Ham all the way through. I had offers to go to other teams, Newcastle and Fulham, but I enjoyed West Ham that much, the people the club and the fans. I would have stayed there, all the way through football. Sam’s a top guy but we just went through a difficult period.”

This is certainly an interesting comment from Morrison.

However, it doesn’t really mean all that much. We’re sure a lot of footballers would love to spend their entire careers at West Ham, but the Hammers deemed him surplus to requirements, and that looks like it was the right decision.

Since then Morrison has pretty much faltered everywhere he’s been, having four different clubs and playing in Italy, Mexico and Sweden.

He’s also switched international allegiances, with the former Engand U21 now turning out for Jamaica, picking up two senior caps for the Caribbean outfit.

Of course Morrison wishes he could’ve stayed at West Ham, they’re currently battling for a spot in the Champions League while he’s without a club.

It’s great to hear that Morrison still loves the club and the fans, and it’s a shame that things couldn’t have worked out better for him at the Hammers.
