The future of Manchester United’s key players is certainly up in the air this summer as is the future of the club’s manager, Erik ten Hag.
A rather poor season at Old Trafford, including finishing rock bottom of their Champions League group and an eighth placed finish, has led to questions being asked about manager Erik ten Hag.
Questions are not only being asked of the manager, but one of their highest paid players in Marcus Rashford. The English winger signed a new and improved long-term contract at Old Trafford last summer but has not kicked on since then.
Perhaps the struggles of Rashford can be summed up by Gareth Southgate’s decision to leave out the winger from his provisional 30-man squad for the tournament, which represents a frustrating nadir for the 26-year-old.

Agbonlahor on Rashford
Speaking on talkSPORT ahead of United’s FA Cup final clash against Manchester City, former Aston Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor believes that the time may well be right for the winger to leave Old Trafford.
“If I was him and if I was Manchester United, I would go to PSG,” Agbonlahor said. “Mbappe is leaving on a free transfer, of course, to Real Madrid. PSG will be missing that sort of player. Rashford has got great attributes. I know he has had a poor season, but we can’t call him a poor player.
“He has been an outstanding player for most of his career. He has had a bad season. I am sure he will want to come back next season after being left out of this England squad for the Euros.
“Hopefully, he comes back with a bang and I am sure that will suit him now. Going over to PSG and he could be the main man over there as well. Manchester United will get a good fee as well. I think it suits both parties.”
PSG ideal for Rashford
As mentioned by Agbonlahor, the French champions are set to lose Kylian Mbappe, who is one of the best players in the world right now, and they will need a suitable replacement.
Going for Rashford, who scored 30 goals in all competition in Ten Hag’s debut season at the club, could well be the ideal replacement. With murmurs of discontent from the United fanbase towards the academy graduate, the French side could get the Englishman for a decent price.
As for United, it is no coincidence that every manager since Louis Van Gaal gave him his debut in 2016 have been keen to work with the winger and were the Red Devils to let him go, this would be the wrong decision.
Having a player who has consistently excelled in big games and big moments is priceless. Rashford has to stay.
