Tony Cascarino says if he was Arsenal, then ‘I would consider’ signing Liverpool transfer target Cody Gakpo during the January transfer window.
Mikel Arteta is searching for a forward during the winter transfer market after Gabriel Jesus’ injury and Cascarino thinks he can see ‘a lot of players working out’, as he told talkSPORT.
Before a ball was kicked, Arsenal probably would have been looking for another forward just to bulk up the squad as they proudly sit at the top of the Premier League table.

But, whilst those in the Emirates Stadium boardroom won’t want to show it, they were probably pushing that panic button once Jesus got injured whilst on Brazil duty at the World Cup.
Former Republic of Ireland international Cascarino was asked about PSV forward Gakpo possibly being a replacement for the injured Jesus and he issued this response.
“I could see a lot of players working out,” said Cascarino on Arsenal possibly signing Gakpo. “They are are a really good side now.
“What he (Arteta) has done is nothing short of a miracle – yes, I would consider, it’s because you don’t have this opportunity very often. You are five points clear.”

GAKPO LINKED WITH PREMIER LEAGUE MOVE
Back in the summer, there was talk of Gakpo possibly joining a team in the Premier League, Ajax winger Antony got his move, but the PSV man stayed put in the Netherlands.
But when the 23-year-old bagged three goals in three group games at the World Cup, then his stock just went through the roof.
It does seem as though if someone puts money on the table, then the versatile forward will leave next month, with the likes of Liverpool and Real Madrid also linked with the £65 million star.
